(how is this for a new thread?)
It is not the freshest news. But it is still breaking, people are still absorbing it ,and it all till needs context.
The filthy greedheads and the doomed can't have exclusive rights to this news territory. The insane and the loyal opposition must have their say as well.
My take - the Russian armada is going to bomb the living fuck out of Aleppo. Not so much to help Assad as to show they can still break shit, and still matter in one of their few areas of influence outside of Russia.
Jo really wants to retire....she often times says she "I miss the old me when I just said whatever I wanted."
"when you're retired you can say whatever you want!"
That's probably true for anyone. But saying what you want depends on how important people are in your life. FB has shown me how mind-boggling stupid most people really are. I find it best not rile the heard...especially when I realize they'll never understand anything I have to say anyway.
If one has something non-conventional to say, it's better to find a blog where one can communicate with those who are at least close to one's own intellectual/awareness level. I find that FB is best used for benign, family oriented communications.
it predates trump......
Here's a thing Chris Hedges did sometime in 2013. Click-bait YouTube headline makes it seem like yesterday. That's ok. Hillz and the corporate Demz were very *nice* business-as-usual. But look at "Better Deal" vs. "People's Platform." Meanwhile, the same old economic shit continues to hit the fan. Fact is, Hillz "lost" to the most flaming asshole ever. Rightly- wrongly- doesn't matter. It is what it is. Boosters on both "sides" think the puppet show is real.
Meanwhile, more "urban campers" are everywhere in SaltLick. Increasing number are junkies. Long story. But here's the new vehicle: The Black Elephant: a 2009 Piaggio MP3 500ie.
Dems keep trying to sell the same old shit in a new package and wonder why they're becoming more irrelevant with each passing day. But it doesn't really matter, as the deep state controls all anyway. And who knows, we could all be burned to a crisp by tomorrow.
I like your new ride. I spose it being a backward tricycle has a benefit that I have yet to discover. But it looks it might be good in an apocalypse with the additional traction.
From this program with Edward Snowden and Daniel Ellsberg, Ellsberg suggested that the career professionals in the intelligence community (aka "The Deep State") were leaking important information to the public about the current Administration and, as such, were actually performing a vital service to democracy. This didn't mean that he was enthusiastic about the Deep State - just noting the irony of the situation at this time.
off topic but wanted to say i was able to spend a little time with ellsberg at camp casey/ crawford, and he seemed to be so clear and centered. we are both recovering christian scientists.
When the deep state leaks to further a particular one-sided agenda, it's not exactly in service to democracy.
They're simply the career bureaucrats that keep the machine running behind the puppet show. Their only "side" is to make it to "retirement" with as much boodle as possible. The bad news is- about 1/3 of them are brutal psychopaths. The good news is-- about 2/3 of them are not.
Disagree. The deep state definately has it's favored politicians. None of the shit we see now was happenning until Trump was elected. Sure, there were attacks on dems by the right wing. But it wasn't deep state shit. The deep state is far more lethal because they are the establishment. We wouldn't be seeing any of the nefarious shit we're seeing now if Hillary had been elected.
Oh no... you wouldn't be seeing it if Hillz were "elected." It would still be going on... but you wouldn't be seeing it. They'd be doing it behind the scenes like Bamz did. The Trumpoons just don't freaking care.
Hillary is a deep state agent. So was Obama. Trump's agenda didn't align so he had to be brought to heel.
Here's a recent article from Glenn Greenwald on how the deep state conquered Trump.
"That the U.S. has a shadowy, secretive world of intelligence and military operatives who exercise great power outside of elections and democratic accountability is not some exotic, alt-right conspiracy theory; it’s utterly elemental to understanding anything about how Washington works. It’s hard to believe that anyone on this side of a sixth grade civics class would seek to deny that."
