I am adding this group so as to not clutter up our main "discussion board."

God bless y'all who volunteer to mentor the wee spiders. They NEED you... and so do I. Let's see how they respond to the alternative website.

Teach, Pan (Teach2), you guys are too kind. Not.

About two months ago, I told all my friends and all my relatives and all the King's horsies I was going to write a new article. I had an idea. Yes, I can. I though. But then I came down with a case of non-writer's blockage. Thanks for the encouragment. I now plan fulfilling my dream, but first, I'd like to learn to write better.

So, the skylite that once was is no more. Two gruling days on the roof *a-lone*, not the least bit confident I could pul it off, I am spent.

Friday, I report to hospital. Polypes gotta make room for real air. Thursday, it will rain again. It rained all of last week, saturday and just a little bit on sunday. Monday came around and I said to myself, and this is exactly what I said, I said, "Curt, we both know your back is killing you but there aint gonna be a better chance to do this than now, so get yer pigmy pony saddled and get on up there, way high where the birdies fly. Gimm hell. You can do it. After all, I'll be there to coach you, give you advice, call you dirty names, read the news while you're not able to, and all that stuff. Get it in gear, success is near." Being the Zwilling I am, I said, "dude, you is nuts. I aint gonna do jack with this back in sack. Fer Gettit." Next thing I knew, it was me, myself and I, way up high.

Done ding. Time to die a soft death. No, no the french kind. I'm havin a cold Pilsner from the icebox, the first one since I doughnut know whax.

later,

curt

Teach, Holycross has asked when the due date is for Assignment #1, is apparently under the impression the due date is this friday. I checked and replied with TODAY (9 Sept. 09) as the correct due date.

Just want to let ya know because due dates is a serious thang. Holycross might be in need of assistance.

Waldo - Not seeing any activity on your site. Does this mean it has been tabled as a pedagogical tool?
Comment by waldopaper on October 5, 2009 at 7:51pm
I dunno. Definitely not "tabled," but I want to see what they do on their own. I have definitely pumped you guys up as a source of knowledge, but... you can lead a horse to water...

As always, it is the spiders' decision.

I told them how it is for me, failing to write my assignments:

Throughout the summer I struggled with my silence.
Two books I dared not review.
I continue
to dare
not Yet when
I wrote some crooked words I witnessed too,
oh so much to bear witness to,
a pain inside subsided slightly.

My mentor, the first person who I truly respect who truly believe in me, once said, "Creativity is a deadline".

And,
That is it.

Being creative isn't about creating the perfect solution,
it is about creating A solution.

The pressure to be creative is
perhaps
the biggest thing that gets in the way
of being
creative.

Just solve the
fucking problem
and
meet the
fucking deadline.

Actually, I've always been more creative when facing a deadline. It also taught me how to be manic. No surprise that the creative fields are filled with manic depressives.

If you want to see creatives under pressure, check out 'Project Runway.' Probably don't have it in England though.

In this case the silence was for fear of a dead line, since two people associated with the author had died in mysterious circumstances very recently. Things are really rather odd over here. It has been a scary summer.
I have deceived you, I neglected to mention that I spent a couple of hours at a very interesting meeting with the publisher of the Progressive Press. There were about 20 people round the table.
