Think I'm gonna take another run at the socialgo site. It's hard to imagine it sucking any more than the Skool-mandated "secure" Blackboard/ WebCT shit... for "security" reasons. Yeh- sezzeye to the poor IT kids that gotta run it... JOB security... for YOU. It hurts their feelings, but I can't help meself.

Blackboard/ WebCT is a hinkety unstable bandwidth-eating pig that sucks shit-juice. It's completely useless for "distance-learning" (its supposed reason for existence.).. ESPECIALLY for spiders out in the hinterlands... who STILL have dial-up connections.

It's a scam that sucks even worse than "required textbooks," where they sell $15 paperbacks for $80 (or MORE) because they move the chapters and pictures around every year. The bandwidth-sucking shit is "features" so teachers can automate the submission/ grading process... which is twice as time-consuming as kill-a-tree paper-and-ink.

Fucking fucktards.

Maisy and I were lying in the Sunday morning sunlight thinking about the price of those textbooks and thanking providence that we don't have to pay it.

A lazy morning to you, from the island ruled by Lord Mandelson, who has ordered the universities to cut degree courses from 3 years to 2 years.

You know we're thinking of you Waldo, however quiet you may be here, we know you're out in the hot tumult where the real work is done.

I'll be happy to contribute as much as I can to the site.

At the U here IT continues to seek out the cheapest solutions - changing servers mid-term, limiting bandwidth, etc. I don't bother with their official site (which they are going to limit next semester, not automatically issuing a page to each class but only if it is requested beforehand) and just use the personal site to put up my syllabi and class assignments. I had to take off some stuff because I was over the allotted amount.
