Your old injury reminds me of when we went to Brazil to train Capoeira. I "played" with a guy who was 15 years younger than me who had been training 15 years longer than me - it was like I had a target painted on my left ribs. I was nearly knocked out by being kicked in the ribs. Six months later J was giving me a back massage and, feeling a large lump sticking out near my spin, pushed really hard and managed to re-locate my rib that I didn't know had been dislocated. Immediately I felt pain in the front where I originally was kicked (several times) but my back finally started feeling better. Sounds like this operation is going to really help you.

Comment by BO on September 12, 2013 at 9:52am: Morphine ER and Hydrocodone for pain, a muscle relaxer, Gabapentin for nerve pain and some stuff to help me poop. The pooping stuff ain't working yet.

Comment by pan on September 12, 2013 at 11:53am: Ah yes....the pooping stuff. Those narcotics have a way of stopping you clean up. Last surgery the pooping stuff finally worked but they had me in a room that had a bathroom that wasn't accessible with my walker so they gave me one of those portable potties - and....after all those drugs stopping me up it didn't smell the sweetest....and just at that moment some suit from the insurance folks decides to pay me a visit. Very embarrassing.

Of course, the next morning the nurses still wanted to give me the pooping stuff and I had to be clear enough on the morphine to realize that I didn't need any more. Definitely don't want more of that pooping stuff when you've been able to poop!

Comment by pan on February 12, 2015 at 5:02pm: We are having weather that we are supposed to be having in late March or April. Almost all of the snow has melted on the mountains. We went mountain biking the other day. We have crocus blooming in our garden. I know this is only local weather rather than global climate but, c'mon, this is really fucked up.
