Welcome to misanthropy. Happy to have you as a member. Six mile social distancing forever is the way.

Love the way you string words togather, small rodent. Remember when you alerted us to John Campbell at the beginning of this pandemic? Got a couple of million followers now. Still the only voice of reason I've been able to find throughout this sh*t show. So, thanks for that.

Developed an interest in ancient cultures and human evolution lately. Interesting enough, I watched a 2009 presentation by Dr Richard Leaky who mentions that microbes would be the thing that would eventially take us out if climate change or war didn't put an end to us first. Sad that we're losing all our rational voices in a time we need them most. "Mass Formation Psychosis" filling the void left behind.

I jumped ship since then, got Campbell nausea, should have said, didn't dare, only now.  We have been going in for death and destruction in a big way here, on the quiet.  Let's see if we can say any more without chest pains and having to rest and shut up.  Campbell seems so civilised with his pen and his notes.  Ask him about the Care Pathway, and the 77th Brigade.  Enough.

My dead fellow jumped ship in New York when he was 18 abouts in the sixties.  He was taken care of by a Jewish gentleman who found him shelter and a job, but the police turned up and he was sent packing, back to the Atlantic for a few more years at sea, and never to darken your doorsteps again.  Lucky for me and all his darling descendants.

I should have said something had I been able to speak.  Now they are pretending that heart attacks have always been a problem for teenagers and sporting folk.  Nothing to do with the spike protein.

More of a rat than a mouse perhaps.

thankfully there are still  brave people out there, like The Last American Vagabond, and UK Column. I still trust them though they be called 'vile' by my nearest and dearest.

We are much divided too.

All my radios are unplugged because of bbc induced nausea, they are hidden away till some distant time... there may be years of authoritarian doom to go first.

there is not a soul to talk to about the most serious matters at present, and I dread appalled reactions.

A young English woman describes an extended encounter

Ah, the rise of corporate authoritarinism. And it would seem the young are broadly in favor of it.  Only a few courageous souls are still willing to point it out. Special kudos to Glenn Greenwald on that front. It's getting mighty lonely out here. We're suppose to pick a side. Yet the side I use to identify with has completely disappeared.

Nah.  Most young folks I know are hip to the dip.

My friend is on his journey, and he is fighting for his small family’s survival. This is not what many of us thought would play out in our lives in our 50s and 60s, but in reality Western Lives/Western Culture/Western Privilege has come at a price — all those billions of people we have stolen futures from. Capitalism. Rapacious consumerism. Rapacious tourism. Wars, war machines, subjugation by proxy.

Well, I guess it isn't just our youth calling for tech censorship. Seems all age groups are for it. My bad.

"Women still tend to be more open than men to the idea of both the government and tech companies taking action to restrict false information online, though both groups have become a bit more supportive of the government taking such steps."  Yep.  False information.  Like 911.  And the looting continues unabated.

"Tahra Ahmed, 51, is accused of stirring up racial hatred on social media days after the fire in west London that claimed the lives of 72 people."    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-59882002

Grenfell Tower.  Building 7.  Potayto potahto

Bald and bankrupt on the ground

Old people don't really kick themselves. Their regret is wistful, almost pleasant. It's not emotionally intense.   There’s nothing more dangerous than doctors, hospitals, and the medical industry.    But, ultimately, confidence culture is a distraction.

Reasonable.  What's "reasonable?"  GND checks all the boxes.  But everybody still wants to fight the commies.  And look- the oligarchs are pinching each other's BOATS.  Don't tell me that aint fucking serious.  It's like pissing on somebody's shoe.  Now they are obliged to kill a bunch of peasants, etc. To uh- "send a message" (ever heard of email). Oh we'll get peace.  The dirt nap awaits.  It's the transition that is in question.  My family is not reasonable.  They're emotional.  Emotions are fine.  We all have them. But when first-world problems turn them into pot-banging door-slamming hillbilly ghetto folk... one feels compelled to get shitty. Professionals don't have time for that shit.  Job-site snark seems quite different.  That's what I learned working in theatre anyway.  Nearly got jammed  in "assisted living."  It was a narrow escape.  And a lucky one.  Little skill on my part. Everything I do is a personal insult now.   Nobody can escape odds like that.

Sure is quiet in here you buggers.  Maybe your life is getting shittier.  Here's something to read while the boat sinks.
