Here is where it is posted. My goal is to create a discussion thread on Facebook, or some other place were Obama people gather, so as to hopefully have an influence.

I gotta flat-out fucking RANT about this... and this will probably be a throw-away thread. Good a place as any. Here's my OEN response to the doofus question: Can "battered newsrooms" learn anything from Stewart's brilliant smackdown (posted here in advance, btw)?

..."media" relies on "advertising" for their income. "Advertising" is obsolete. Think about it.

The present production-distribution system has been such a fat cash cow for so many years... largely because of cheap (subsidized) energy and race-to-the-bottom "content," people who still have "jobs," from the grunt-on-the-ground to the CEO in the air... ALL are deer-in-the-headlights... because they can't IMAGINE anything else.

"Broadcasting" is in its twilight. "Narrowcasting" is its poor shadow. Cyber-storefronts may be the beginning of whatever is next. Who knows? If you still have a "job" in a "newsroom," congratulations... but you know as well as anybody that the ship is going down. Get to friday and collect the next check... same as everybody else.

There are only so many "lifeboats," and most of them have been loaded with rich fatties and are rowing furiously away. NOBODY wants to hit the water where your chance of survival is about 30 seconds... presuming you stay afloat that long. The suits blather about the "investors." Get real. They've already screwed the "customers." They are in the process of screwing the "workers."

Lastly, they'll screw the "investors," and this is what is happening now. Unless they are brutally stupid, every "newsroom worker" knows this... and every "editor" is playing Rumkowski, the last one aboard the train... after collecting a paycheck to select prior passengers. Those of us who haven't stashed enough nuts... or have run through our "savings," playing for time... who are still living in the paycheck-to-paycheck world KNOW we are supporting an evil system as it totters toward its own destruction.

What can "battered newsrooms" learn? Nothing.

They are doomed.

Now... for the real fucking shit where there are no imposed asterisks or wanker dipwad "editors" looking for "hate speech" and "ad-hominem attacks" and whatever such solution-in-search-of-a-problem weeny-head job-security-think. We are ALL Nazis now... you know it- I know it. Unless we are throwing fire and steel to bring this evil fucking system down, we are riding it until the last minute... like the falling elevator where we believe if we jump at the veeeerrry lassst second... we won't be smashed to burger on the elevator floor. That would only work (if you could do it) for about 10 feet. For four thousand years? For-fucking-getaboutit.

Oh,,, maybe YOU are a "good German." You live on the fringe. You aint in the USA. You are working your own plan to rage against the machine. Lucky you. Last korp job I had... I was sweetening up the bullshit-rationalization for "securitization" and the whole fucking Ponzi scheme that got us where we are now. NOW I think I am hiding out in "academia," serving as a paper-hat glop-bag deliverer of "credit hours" to people who pay $25k a fucking year and think they can get better "jobs" because they got their ticket punched. Screwing the "investors" as usual.

I am just another low-level Nazi SLAVE just like YOU are. Who are we fucking kidding? Not ourselves. Oh sure, I tell myself... if I can turn just ONE person on to the "real deal," then blabba blabba yedda yah. What a load of crap. Nobody is interested in "learning," and if I can "teach" them anything, it's so fucking horrible and useless...depressing at best and "counter-productive" at worst... because if I really wanted to "make a difference," I would say, "...fuck all this bullshit. Get out there and kill a cop ." But I won't. Never in a million years.

As long as we are "making money," we are murderers. Nice.
