Sartre wrote "hell is other people" and, perhaps that is true, but having to deal with Insurance/Medical bureaucrats is one of the lowest levels of hell.  I am sure that Dante would include the CEOs of Insurance companies in a special section to mete out their punishment.

Hang in there.  Find the small joys.

I have to go hiking and camping for sanity.  Getting away from people - and the mediated news - is necessary for my mental health.

We also have decided to just start doing things - last summer we went to Italy, this May we are going to Finland.  No more waiting for the "right time" to do things - if not now, when?

Yep, no better time to live than when you're living.

Sitting in New Orleans with a plugged-up ear. Fuck. Boarding a boat tomorrow for Belize, Cozumel, Honduras, Progresso. Bunch of snorkle tips planned and I have an ear infucktion.

Oh well. Maybe I'll be a rich dude in my next life, and won't have to wait til I'm old and feeble to take vacations. Hitting fifty wasn't too bad, but at sixty, suddenly I'm starting to feel old. And with that, begin the feelings of regret about not having done more with my life. At least while I could still do it.

Eight hours walking around the French Quarter. Love the history here. First, the Spanish owned the place, then the French, then the Spanish again, then we Americans with the Louisiana purchase in 1803. And a major slave trade center. Went into a couple buildings dating back to 1725. Not exactly Europe, but pretty cool nonetheless.

And the street musicians. Wow. This place really is full of soul. Young kids playing New orleans jazz out in the street...incredible at improvisation. And of course, a lot really great blues musicians. Bought a CD from a female duo who played guitar and violin -- playing jazz interpretations of classical and contemporary songs. No way to describe it except to say they were so fucking good, they brought tears to my eyes. If you want to hear good music...this is the place to be. Good dancing too. The women here...definitely know how to 'work it.'

OK, that's the BO report for today. Waldo, hang in there, man. You too, LOM.

We'll have to wave to her from the taxi tomorrow morning as we make our way the da boat. Gonna be pressed for time. But thanks for the heads up.

yeah, figured it was too late, but thought it was worth a try.

we have just bought 10 acres with a creek (not a big one unless flooding) two greenhouses, 900ft heated shop, 3-car garage.  so we will be focusing on it - but still doing our activism.  pictures to come.  hang in there, waldo!

Really nice digs. But, I'll bet it was the mural in the bathroom that clenched the deal.

10 acres. That's a whole ranch!

I don't think I fit here any more love you guys see ya.

Littleoldme,

I hope everything is ok. You make up the rbc family.

I hope you have a happy holiday and and all the best in the coming New Year!

why don't you think you fit here any more?  my father died and left me some money i am spending on this place.  he would approve, i have been living on poverty wages for years.  as this place is in moline, ks, it is not what it would be in florida, california, or really anywhere i know of.  what you wrote makes me sad.  why aren't you happy for me?  shit, i finally have a place i can imagine people coming to visit, where the plumbing works, and you think i am living high on the hog?
