Thank you Bo. Yes, I still have that picture, and it would be nice to know it was hanging in your house.

whidbey has always been weird, remember the skinhead or whitesupremist leader there? and with the naval air base- the sound of freedom and all. my ex motherinlaw lives there.

what's left of the real hippies in pt you hardly see. they can't afford to do anything there. there are trustifarians, young hip dredded hempclothed beauties, and their volvos. you can count the real hippies there on your hand any more. seriously depressing. it is all getting so sanitized. no town tavern any more, not that the brew pub isn't a nice place, just no more great crazy bands and the sexy sweaty hippie shit. the alternative schools are all for the best and brightest, not the real alternative folks. but it is better than whidbey. you can't afford to live and work there anymore. where are the hippies (not talking about humboldt county) . we are hidden. in cheap places, little towns, etc.

we went to our local rodeo, held every year on the 3rd and 4th of july, and sat next to a beautiful young liberal family whose parents live nearby, and we were all so happy to have like minded neighbors. there wasn't as much ultrapatriotic stuff as in other years, but they changed the rodeo stock people who put it on. still the tasteless motherinlaw jokes, but better. large fireworks display and odd combination, pseudo hendrix anthem but also proud to be an american, yada yada.

Still happy to be here, just the low population and the clean air helps me cope, plus the low cost. And it's pretty.

enjoy the rest of the weekend, massive house cleanup/out here.

just heard from a friend of mine who is in pt for the summer (lives here now in moline, ks) that another friend of mine passed away in her sleep with pneumonia. she had built a little cabin for herself, sweet lady, another of the oldstyle pt hippies. and heard that another friend is going to have to leave the little converted garage he has lived in for 30 years. end of an era. sorry to seem like such a downer about pt, it is just too rich for my blood, and the blood of a lot of the old artists, funky boatyard folks etc.

Hi, Bo! Thanks for your kind comments! Where in Norway did your family come from?

I'm a weirdo?!? I'm not the one whose picture changes every other day. What's going on? Mid-virtual-life crisis? Multiple screen persona disorder? Or boredom? (insert cute smilely emoticon here)

Are you able to get up from the keyboard and swing a hammer now and then? We're in full remodel mode here. In a holding pattern while we wait for the new carpet to be delivered/installed.
