One of the truly great songs. He made the right decision to play it "straight" and avoid the temptation to muck around with the original arrangement.
As an undergraduate I would turn off the lights, lights some candles, put "Blue" on the turntable and fully indulge in my angst - enjoying when the tears would flow. Now I find I don't need to go to all that effort to get the waterworks going - I've become a sentimental old sap.
