Life in the Empire

I think we can all agree that US democracy has been successfully extinguished. And it's probable that other western countries will follow suit as more conservative leaders are placed in office globally.

Chris Hedges and Sheldon Wolin call the resulting new form of government, "Inverted Totalitarianism."

Considering that voting has become meaningless and the rule of law in the US has become nothing but a joke, how does a concerned citizen fight back?

In the past, totalitarian governments were lead by individuals who espoused a particular political ideology, now we have a entire system of corruption and subversion designed to enrich the ruling class. And considering its success, the system has worked well for its intended benefactors.

The question is: who's really behind the subversion of our democracy? What is their ultimate goal? Conspiracy theories abound--many espoused by the lunatic fringe. But many seem to warrant further investigation.

I started this thread in the interest of ferreting out who the primary players behind our enslavement are. What are their goals, and how do we expose them? Imagining you could do something, what should be done with them?

BO wants to know.

I finally got to look at her germinating seed-box.  Probably does not sound like a big deal, but there she was... first meaningful link with "The Machine" (tm) since 1980-whatever.   The box I saw today contains the device I will take possession of Monday 3 pm and try to educate her as a puppy as best I can.

She seems to have chosen an Ottorbox Commuter case... with some kind of blue racing stripe.  Wouldn't have been my choice.  I was going for the Defender case in black.  There are all kinds of AI apps... plus monitors for the sensors and telemetry and shit.

Charlotte is a distraction as usual,Hays lose cannon in grumble pants making white trash snarks on her Nazi serfs.  Yuk it up all the way to the guillotine.  You know the REAL Charlotte can change easily from one thing to another.  Fire can't kill a dragon.  Especially one that recognizes speech.

"Maybe pirates will capture a Disney cruise ship and Obama will join Seal Team Six for one last mission — but when he discovers a dark secret, the true value of friendship will jizz in a pie."  <- ya think a machine can write like that yet?  maybe.

It could happen.

A new tradition: Black Friday Mayhem.

From Zerohedge…

Mobs, Stampedes, Fights, Brawls, A Stabbing And Shooting: A Video Compilation Of Black Thursday 2013

Nice of Zerohedge to get these videos up early. Nothing better than watching the peeps celebrate xmas with a nice turkey sandwich.

I'll bet The Walltons have a hoot watching 'em too.

Saw a story on TV news last night about Black Thursday.  They interviewed the woman who was first in line at K-Mart.  She had been there since before dawn.  She missed Thanksgiving with her four kids (ate a sandwich with her daughter while standing in line).  She said that she would have preferred to spend the Holiday with her family but she was "doing it for my kids".   Seriously. Fucked. Up.

I guess "Family Values" has been translated into Value$ for the Family.

Rust never sleeps...

Conservative groups across the US are planning a co-ordinated assault against public sector rights and services in the key areas of education, healthcare, income tax, workers' compensation and the environment,

Democrats writing in the Wall St Journalattacking other Democrats for not supporting Wall Street enough....

au contraire….Looks to me like a bunch of rich jews trying to maintain the kleptocracy.

"Mr. Cowan is president of the think tank Third Way, where Mr. Kessler is senior vice president for policy."

The again, in the interest of balance, there are some mighty fine jews (as Adam Sandler might say) out there exposing what the other, evil half is doing…

David Simon: 'There are now two Americas. My country is a horror show'

The creator of The Wire, David Simon, delivered a coruscating speech about the divide between rich and poor in America, and how capitalism has lost sight of its social compact.

I knew a guy named Richard Ju.  Apparently his frat brothers loved to freak out visitors by yelling out "Rich Ju, Rich Ju".
