Life in the Empire

Israel is our Friend, The Holocaust is Justification for Everything they Do.

Apparently the German F.M. Steinmeier and the U.S. State Department have coordinated their talking points and claim that any criticism of Israel is disguised anti-semitism.

Same ole shit, different century. Thanks be to Pan for reminding us of Picasso's Guernica--which ought to be hung up on the wailing wall in Jerusalem.

On 26 April 1937, the small Basque town of Guernica was left in ruins after a sustained aerial attack by the German Luftwaffe. In Paris, Pablo Picasso reacted to the senselessness of this strike, in which hundreds of civilians were killed, by painting Guernica - an imposing monochromatic mural (measuring an impressive 11ft by 23ft) in which the atrocities of the assault are starkly expressed. The absence of colour - Picasso only used black, white and shades of grey - not only imbues the painting with a sense of bleakness but lends to it all the harsh immediacy of a newspaper. Its fragmentary nature, a distinct characteristic of Picasso's signature cubist style, further imparts an impression of the brutality and violence associated with war.

The universality of its themes of death and suffering, as well as its use of archetypal figures (a bull, a horse, a weeping woman) has meant that Guernica has since achieved iconic status, being appropriated as a symbol of peace by anti-war campaigners and cited endlessly for a number of pacifist causes. Following Francisco Franco's triumph in Spain, Picasso himself requested that the painting be sent to the US and not return until his native land had been freed from its fascist rule. Guernica was finally returned to Spanish soil in 1981 where it has since been housed in the Reina Sofia in Madrid.

Today, a tapestry of the mural hangs at the entrance of the United Nations Security Council - the UN organ concerned with peace and security - as a constant reminder of the horrors that go hand in hand with war. The spirit behind the tapestry's strategic location was, however, lost amongst the discourse of warmongering when on 5 February 2003 it was concealed beneath a set of blue drapes to create a blank backdrop, just in time for the then Secretary of State, Colin Powell, who was preparing to present his justifications for a military attack in Iraq.

This wilful amnesia to forget Guernica's stark and simple message is testament to its powerful imagery, which although depicts a specific twentieth-century horror, augurs the many more that have since followed.
Gaza City hospital a gruesome scene;
shocked families pick through body parts to identify loved ones RigorousIntuition.ca "Some targets were hit twice, particularly in the eastern part of Gaza City, so that the second strike killed rescue workers and people rushing to help victims of the first strike." Yet more confirmation, if any were needed, that the current state of Israel, like the US, has been hijacked by awful, evil scum, abandoning the most enlightened, gracious and principled tenets of peace and justice, human rights and spiritual awareness that they pay lip-service to.
The U.S. govt. continues to lie to rationalize war crimes - Israel broke the truce 5 November

The United States holds Hamas "responsible" for the renewal of deadly violence in Gaza after the Islamist group broke its ceasefire with Israel, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Saturday.
It's the same here, very biased reporting, which is so disturbing in itself. It's frightening. But of course so much of this wrong doing originates here in England.
Have only watched half of the following, made 2 years ago I think, but very interesting in relation to funding Israel and current saving of banks.
Israel starts planning the invasion immediately after the truce is agreed upon yet we are to believe that it was Hamas' fault. Standard wife-beater line "you make me hurt you".
The cost of the Fort Apache outpost (USreal) to guard the oil fields set up in 1948 may be compared to the one proposed to guard the moon in 1959.
The Hannukah Massascre

A recent case (covered by Palestinian journalist Khalid Ameyreh) taking place in Israel just prior to the Gaza massacre adds even more proof to this idea of encompassing “Judaism VS the world”. Said case involves one Daniela Weise, a rabidly anti-Gentile “Israelite” who regularly quotes from the Old Testament, telling hundreds of Jewish fanatics it is a mitzvah (religious commandment) to attack Arabs and murder them because “their lives have no sanctity and their property belongs to us” and adding that “The Bible shows us the way we should be dealing with the Arabs. The Bible can’t be wrong“. In another similar case, an American tourist in Israel recently engaged in a discussion with a Jew where the following exchange took place–

Israeli Jew–“You are a Christian, aren’t you?”

American–“Yes”

Israeli Jew–“Do you believe in the Bible?”

American–“Yes”

Israeli Jew–“Well then, you know God ordered the ancient Israelites to wipe off the goyim (gentiles) from the holy land of Israel. If that was right then, why can’t it be right now?”
Shame on those who still cannot see this for what it is. Welcome back to the fucking Middle Ages fur sure. Don't worry though, the US has secured a very large amount that will go to immediate humanitarian aid for the area. 30Bn $US in weapons over the next 9 years ...or so. They can't just let the weapons sit around and rust, right? And what the hell good is a year old rifle anyway?

F.M. Steinmeier. Never mind Merkel. Look at Steinmeier. Google his sorry arse. Use words like involuntary rendition / CIA flights affair / Israel / BND / Iraq / and even Fischer. This guy is THE bridge between the Fs over there and the ones over here.
Nice to see ya, Curt.

Instead of giving Israel 30B worth of 'Peace-makers' to fight a losing battle, why doesn't the US just give them Michigan (do you think they'd all fit?). Then they/we could create a new banking megaplex in Detroit and save their economy. A win-win me thinks.

Too cynical? don't answer that.

How about....I'm actually kinda hoping Iran gets involved in this one. I'll bet they've learned a thing or two since that seven-day war back in '67. Russian peacemakers against US peacemakers. At least it'd be interesting. Bombing the shit outta people with no defenses ain't fair. Time for the underdog to get a few hits in.

I hates war. I hates genocide worse. I hate countries that provide weapons to countries performing genocide even worser. Fucking sleeze-bags.
