Life in the Empire

Seems the peeps might have had enough. The evidence is in the number of increasing violent attacks against the system that the prez likes to call violent outbursts--as if to say they might be random and perpetrated by nut cases.

But, what if they aren't.

Seems recent events might actually be understandable given the desperation and limited alternatives some of these 'violent' individuals were faced with...

Like the guy from Florida who shot his previous employer....

"ORLANDO, Fla. - Jason Rodriguez's marriage long ago went sour, his home taken in foreclosure, his job lost to incompetence, his finances sunk in bankruptcy. It was a "stress overload" for the man accused of a deadly shooting rampage at his former office, his lawyer said Saturday.
The 40-year-old man whose life seemed to just keep getting worse was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, accused of killing one and wounding five Friday at his former office. He said nothing in his brief court appearance Saturday, but his attorney portrayed him as a mentally ill man who fell victim to countless problems."

Then, there is the couple who have been charged with 'torturing' a couple of loan modification scammers...

"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - As Los Angeles housing advocates launched a campaign warning of mortgage rescue scams, a couple hit by foreclosure are charged with torturing two loan-modification agents they suspected of fraud, authorities said on Monday."

And we all know what happened when the army asked a muslim to go to his 'homeland' and kill his own people. Too bad they couldn't hear his objections.

Anyway...

Here's a good article on the reason we'll be seeing a lot more those violent outbursts in the future.

As Foreclosure Nightmares Increase, Will More Homeowners Pay Off Th...

"The economic crisis revealed late-capitalism's central offense: Human beings are being transparently treated if they were mere transactions. And they're going postal over it."

Or maybe they're beginning to see the entire government as the criminal enterprise it has become, and realize that that's why there's no justice for them. Maybe they now realize that the only way they'll ever experience justice is to take it by force. As Bush once said..."freedom isn't pretty." Maybe the 'war for freedom', has finally come home.

But an Army shrink, whose job was convincing grunts with PTSD that they really should go back to the front, didn't go postal because, being a Muslim he had to be a terrorist! Wave that false flag high!
Hmmmm...don't know if I can get behind the multiple shooter conspiracy yet. Guess it's too hard for me to imagine that the government would go to such an extreme to generate propaganda. It's just too fucking evil and foreign to me.

So how do they counsel the survivors now? I think I'd be a little 'shrink shy'. Say that ten times fast.
We all know that Army wouldn't lie to us....ask Pat Tillman's family.

It is completely amazing that a non combat, medical officer could shoot nearly 45 people on a military base with an automatic handgun and a revolver. The dynamics of reloading are beyond possibility. Of course, the make of the handguns changes by the day but still, the dynamics are not possible. Remember, it’s a military base.
Reflections in a Petri Dish
Here's a fun toot I went off on today for a group in a school that honks its "degrees" as "employer-based" (so the studes can get "jobs," of course). They showed no interest in researching the word "oligarchy" (rule by the few)... so I had to explain it. And here's what's funny, kids: they're "training" you to help them get even richer and more powerful without even knowing (or caring) who they are. Ain't that a riot? But that's not the funny part. The funny part is: they're making YOU PAY for it... isn't that a fucking scream?

But wait... it gets even better: after you "graduate" $100k in debt so you can get your $35k-a-year "job... and after you spend 10 years making them fatter and trying to pay them back and can't do it... THEN they'll come and take all the piddly shit you've managed to accumulate for yourself for pennies-on-the-half-shell... and sell it to other chumps who think they can pay for it in a "no-inflation" economy with falling wages (when you can get a "job") and rising prices. So... who are "they?" What was that word you didn't want to research?

THAT'S what's funny!!
Have the little schmucks write a paper titled, Stockholm Syndrome and What it Means to Me.
NEAR RIOTS AT UCLA OVER PROPOSED 32% TUITION HIKE

A crowd of more than 500 demonstrators rushed Covel Commons on Wednesday to protest a proposed 32 percent student fee increase. They were met by dozens of university police, some of whom were outfitted in riot gear. At one point, protesters broke through police barricades that surrounded the main entrance to Covel. Officers responded to the stampede of students and union workers by extending the metal barricades around the entrance and using nightsticks and Taser guns to force the crowd back.

Well....this is a start:

#Occupy Duckburg!  Yep- it's here.  Could not help but notice it was about 0.1% of the population.  That's a basis point.  It aint torches and pitchforks... and it is taking great pains not to go there.  Maybe that's a good idea.  Maybe Mohamed must go to the mountain and quit waiting for it to come scampering over the polar icecap.

I think I want to start a youtube channel.  Gotta learn about that shit.  Meanwhile gotta quit writing and start reading... papers.

There were a few postcard sized handouts scattered about the building I teach in.  Didn't really pay much attention.  Happy to see that at least of few of the drones in Might as Well be Utah were paying attention.  Did a little google search.....my god....there is an Occupy Pocatello!

This is the space I usually occupy, where that dog stands on the mat.  That is the spot I like a lot.  Though it is quite a drop, and be careful not to stagger, do so be careful not to stagger much.

Looking at this fuchsia is a pleasant occupation for October

This is the fuchsia on the bench, while the fuchsia on the table resounds

thus.

Lovely.

We are having our first frosts.  Still many, many tomatoes to harvest.  The dehydrator is working overtime.
