Life in the Empire

not sure if these will develop on time. Planted from seed. Blue carrots there too, and cherry tomatos.

Love your veggy pics Curt.
My last year's cherry tomatoes have just come to the end of their season and the new year's plants are popping up all over the garden.
My work has relocated me 500 km north of here and this week I went to the new town to find a new home - think I found one that will suit me and the dogs to move into in a couple of months time. The garden in the backyard is just a big flat lawn. Daunting task to get it planted up from scratch. I will refer a lot to some of the RBC posts for ideas. I am collecting seed from my peppers, new zealand spinach & peppers to take with me to help me get a new veggy / fruit garden going again.

I wish I had a virgin big flat lawn to begin with. I would make a mixture of garden and lawn in a way it would be a fruitful and pretty place to spend my time. Would also have a useless pile of rocks for salamanders to use as a refuge.

the corn aint doin so hot now, but the 'maters are goin gonzo and so are the zukes and cukes. i was just out pullin up "weeds" and accidently pulled up a baby turnip, sniff. but it looks like we ginna have a mess o turnips and a mess o greens. jury's still out on the "indian hill" planting method. the beans are climbing a few, and the squash is fine. methinks i started too late. course this is all small-scale experimental so cant-tell-one-plant-from-another can figure it out. wish't ida spent all this time learning about plants instead o language.

curt- are those cherry-maters or baby big ones?
