Crops being sprayed with MSG, glutamic acid as chemical growth enhancers

Yesterday I was simmering organic beef bones from Hampshire (down the road) for ten hours for the week's stock.  Only cost £1.99 for a kilogram.  Strained it before I went to bed.  The results are sitting in in the larder.  A pot of nutritious jelly sealed with fat.

I shall make soup for the girls, and take it to them in my basket. Tra la.

Of course in the old days I could have sold those bones on to the glue makers for much the same price at this stage.

Well... Here it is!  Took a couple of days to get it write... but I DO have my standards... and they are fairly incomprehensible.

BO- you should SEE P&H's place out in Kansas.  I ain't revealing no details here... but could you afford a $7000 house?  Where everything works?  An this is about as far out of the hood as you kin get.  There is enough land to feed everybody... and the town has a library!  Several small churches too... but one was destroyed by lightning just a few weeks back for gay-bashing.  God seems more reasonable here.  Only thing that might blow you away is a tornado.

I did not take too many pictures.  A camera is a camera and a phone is a phone... which is all I had.  I am used to clankier shit... that uses FILM.

anyway... there it is... the 4-quad modification by Utah Trikes... and the only place on earth where you can see one of these smeggers is in Payson Utah.  It's a quantum leap from the trike... which is a quantum leap from a bicycle.  I rode a villager trike all day for two days... no sweat (you don't sweat much in the high desert).

Now imagine the above contraption with electric assist and... a SAIL.  Not really a sail... more like a wing... and not just any wing- a photovoltaic SOLAR wing.  In Kansas it would have topped 40mph with no pedaling at all!

I like your new toy! It looks comfy.

I'm not really a rural kind of guy. I need community, water and hills. Still looking for the right place. Still might go for Hawaii if we can afford it. But, we've also been looking at Sedona, AZ.

Turns out my grandparents' old farm sits right on top of one of North Dakota's prime oil formations -- so it turns out I'm gonna be an oil baron by inheritance. We could see twenty or so wells drilled on our property in the next five or so years.  I had to fight my step-siblings for ten years to get the mineral rights back after they attempted to steal them. Fought a 10 year long court battle and didn't even know the property had oil on it. Now it looks like it's gonna be worth millions. Just plain stupid luck.

Anyway...So much for my contribution to permaculture. Now I'm an evil oil barron hoping to become an Oahu Hillbilly.

How'd you like to be so rich you could buy an entire Hawaiian Island? Fuckhead Larry Ellison just did. Went snorkeling there on our last trip to islands. I'll bet the locals are pissed.

Meanwhille the youngest sister (Ms. Medussa) is finding herself in another generation of the Italian Californinan version of King Lear - all over a stupid charitable trust that isn't big enough to be managed by the professionals made from her mom's remnant proceeds from the property in the gold country that the previous generation fucked up due to greed/distrust/family infighting that continued on the greed/distrust/family infighting from their parents.  The fund that is left is a relatively piddling amount (as anemic as our assets our, we have more than the funds do) but having a check disbursed every quarter sure helps, no matter how small it is.

BO if you get wealthy by getting royalties letting the corps suck the blood out of the earth for vampire machines you could do penance by helping finance Waldo's velo-quad project.  North Dakota.....damn....that is cold in the winter!

Got my first royalty payment this month. I'm only 60 grand in the hole now. Plus, my lawyer got a third of the mineral rights. Albeit, I probably wouldn't have gotten anything without her.

What a learning experience. If M is like me, she's likely to find out every member of her family is an asshole. In which case -- like me -- she may find herself without one. I won't even talk to my only brother any more. He completely 'bailed' on me during the whole process. Wouldn't help fund the suit. Literally yelled at me not to go forward and agreed (behind my back) to a pittance of what they owed us, then complained that he should have gotten more after I won it all back. Never felt so betrayed in my life. It was a Coppola moment (Godfather II).

It'll be a year or two before I know if we're gonna 'get wealthy.' More likely, I'll get a retirement out of it -- as long as the dollar and economy don't collapse. North Dakota has been through several oil booms and busts. So, we'll see. If I do get some big money, I'd be happy to benefit the group somehow, but I'm not close to that yet.
