This is my idea of the coolest EVER

Out on the road, we came real close to the USA/Mexico border. Too close for comfort. Border Patrol all over the damned place.

Sells Arizona. We road along US 86 from Casa Grande to Tucson. There were two temporary control stations set up, one south of Casa Grande and one just south of Kitt Peak. But who would attempt to cross the boarder in 110°F heat ?
the Devils Highway (not Route 666)
Oh boy. in the third video of "devil's highway" you get to see the "minutemen." they think the poor campesinos are "terrorists." they probably think cacti are "terrorists." or anything else when they put saucepans on their heads and salute themselves in the mirror... except they're playing with REAL guns. i really don't see how it is possible to peacefully co-exist with these miserable bullet-headed fucks.
shit like this still makes me cry.
Devils Hiway Promo

all the while, Sherrif Joe is now going from town to town dragging his nets. Local Police are opposed to Joe's actions so as a result, there is currently (hot off the press, not) some major tension between Joe (the Fed) and local authorities. Strange enough, all people I spoke with are on Joe's side. They are also all white.

sick Joe
could be family of mine..........

Houston, we have a problem
Which side are you on ? Are ya with us or again' us ?

I did a great job of keeping my mouth shut. When one of my nieces asked me to describe myself in one word, I said "dissident". She looked to her mother for an explanation. Her mom, an avid church-goer explained as good as she could, not quite hitting the proverbial nail on the head, actually missing the damned thing altogether, but that's alright. Chatted with a few Nam Vets and was able to unleash it all...had to to keep up with what they were saying. Those Nam Vets were the only sane ones I had a chance to speak with. On the flight back over, our arrival in Detroit was delayed..."Air Force One has just landed". Our flight out was delayed ..."Air Force One has priority". Two seperate flights, two seperate announcements, two seperate announcers (pilots). One was tickled pink to be able to see the motorcade and all. The other was obviously irritated. Most passangers peered out the tiny windows to try to catch a glance at their hero. One fellow sitting not far from me just said "jeeezus friggin Christ!" I added an "the criminal should have been impeached years ago" which made him smile.

Life in the big gulag is still the same. TV running all the time, nothing on, nothing being said that hasn't already been said. Nada damned thing about the world outside the fence. Saw a comedian on HBO while staying at the Aztec Motel in Seligman Arizona. Dude put it all down, covered them all and said it like it is. Never got his name but he ripped all pResidents since Carter a brand new ass and was rewarded with a huge applaus. Think it was recorded in Vegas. Layin on the bed, sippin on a Dos Equis, smokin a rolled Bugler, I was thinkin to myself, there is some hope after all. These people aren't all batshit crazy. Not all of them. And hey, Route 66 is taking no sides in this. It's just there, surviving....almost melting away while the world goes apeshit over a bunch of nothing.
The collapse ... my own seems to be keeping pace with the world at large. Got through the breast cancer bit so far so good. Now it's cataract surgery looming on Monday. I am looking forward to being able to see properly again, but I can't say I'm wild about it being done under local anaesthetic with me wide awake while they replace the lense in my eye. In fact I fell quite ill at the thought. People who've I've spoken to who've had it done say it all works out ok and it's a joy to be able to see clearly again. Any of you guys had it done?
sorry, Cal, not that, not yet but I did go through a second wide awake operation this week. This one was a surprise, totally unexpected. The last one was planned, so expected and loaded with typical anxhiaties.....dictionary calls but is left where it is. Our eyes are something else. Not like my finger that one time or my upper arm, this week. A different psychology altogether. I regret I cannot lend any solid advice other than to say I trust the surgeons are working routine and I know what it's like to be blind. There are worst things in life. The operation will not render you blind, so don't worry about that. Don't worry at all. You know how positive thinking works........glow, let your energy flow. Let yourself go.....you will still be in charge of the situation ...all will be well. Trust and let go, let it all go.........use your minds eye to see the green fields of Ireland. Smell them, feel them with your hands as if you were laying on your back in the midst of a field. Feel the warm sun on your face. Feel the soft breeze. Trust. Listen to the wind..............breathe..........breathe.........breathe.............breathe.............trust, trust, trust. All will be well.

We are coming of age and with that, we require more and more treatment. I personally don't quite know how to come to terms with this but I do remember what it was like to go though six months of chemo to beat HepC. I gave up and surrendered my life to the ones who said they knew what they were doing. .....They did know. All is well. I hope this helps. I mean it sincerely. I only hope that I am able to take my own advice next time I need it. ;-)
I'm some what with you on this one. I think I'd be a little leary meself.
But I'm sure they'll have ya pretty drugged up, so it's all good. Just listen to the Curt Man and breathe, breathe, breathe.
Thanks guys for the support ... I'm breathing and will continue to breath ... and I've added a little anti-anxiolitic meds to help the breathing along. One thing that really excites me is maybe not having to wear glasses after the op. I've been wearing bottle thick glasses since the age of 7 when one of my teachers suggested to my father that maybe I wasn't a total retard ... maybe I just couldn't see. I was watching 'the sound of music' and we got my glasses during interval .... man, I could not believe there were actually people with faces & stuff on the screen instead of just swirling whirling colours.
I'm home.....in Pocatello, ID.

Lots of stuff, heavy stuff. Had to rent a 6'X12' cargo trailer to supplement the 26' U-Haul van.

Driving, driving, driving......

Ms. Medusa woke up yesterday with a very severe case of vertigo. If she moved her head too quickly she started puking. If she drank any water she started puking. When she got out of bed she walked around like her 96 year old grandmother.

I unloaded the van completely by myself. Took two days. I'm exhausted.

Medusa got the idea to send me to the drug store to see if there was any over-the-counter drugs that could help. She still is pretty wasted but she was able to function a little today.

Unpacked some dishes, went grocery shopping, gotta have some salad or something else not from Subway or Chinese take-out.
