Life in the Empire

They keep coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches. They eat away at the foundation of civilization. They lie, cheat and steal. They think the world owes them something they don't deserve. They get away with murder.

Who are they?

Well Happy Fuckin' Birthday!

Thanks, man.

...and keep posting on ol rbc... and the Chump too- dig the shit you put up there... even tho ya gotta watch yosef.

We gotta spread that earthy crunchy shit around.

Have a happy one Bo!

Found out yesterday the hospital set my old fella home with a ruptured disk and a fractured vertebrae. They said nothing was broken but the MRI we had done says way different and the guy who caused all this lied through his teeth, he had no insurance.

Yippy!

Sorry to hear, LOM. Did you have uninsured motorists coverage? The bill must be a whopper...what happens next?

Oh yeah...this is the part where the lawyers end up with all the money. /snark

Seriously, I hope hubby isn't in too much pain and a full recovery is possible.

Luckily we did. We hired a lawyer right away, so I think that will help if they try to screw us. The law firm only gets 30% of the settlement, so that's not bad. Any thing is better then nothing since he won't be able to go back to work as a mechanic. As for pain he seems to be doing ok, they had him on a really high dose of oxycodon, it made him dizzy, and that made him sick to his stomach, so he won't take any more of them. He's taking motrim. lol

As for recovery we'll have to wait and see.

Oxycodone stopped up my stomach and intestines something awful.  Hydrocodone was a lot more tolerable.  Both made me a lot less sharp.

Depending upon your coverage, they may have to pay and then they have to sue the guy to get their money back. Stay on top of the insurance folk - they are rewarded at the job for keeping payouts minimal - it's a pain in the ass and the paper trail contains lots of intentional obfuscation but, if you keep an eagle eye and are insistent, they have to pay what they are required to pay.

When the bus crashed through our business in Tacoma the forensic accountant for the insurance was bound and determined to screw us on our loss of business income.  Fortunately Ms. Medusa is extremely stubborn when it comes to things like this - even so, they still screwed us out of several thousand dollars.  But, the claims adjuster who first was dealing with our case left the firm and, since we hadn't signed-off on it, about a half year later the new person who was assigned to clean-up the files that were still open sent us a duplicate check for a previous payment  which made up for what they screwed us out of in the first place.

I like stories like that!

I recently lost a lot of money out of my bank account in an internet banking fraud.  Bank says I compromised my pin & password.  I say I didn't.  So does the security software trail.  Bank wins.  I have an ombudsman form here in front of me ... need to get up the energy to pursue the matter further.

Can't let the bastards grind us down ...

I 'feel' you guys. Seems like I spend half my time fighting with the man. Just about all corporations have adopted banking policies in their attempt to screw customers. Even our local water company tried to extort extra funds out of us recently. It's fucked up. Problem is...our 'fuck you' government has gone missing in its responsibility to regulate predators. If anything they're enabling them.

I recently learned that if I share private medical info with my previous company, that I can receive a discount on my monthly premiums. It's pure extortion and totally illegal. The government?---no where to be found. I recently found out that my brother and I are owed some farmland in North Dakota. Called the court to figure out the process to have it deeded to us. The response---'Fuck you'...get a lawyer. It just gets worse and worse.

I guess this is what the collapse looks like...all taxes...no services. If you need help...it's "Fuck you, you're on your own, Bud." Welcome to the land of extortion. Why in the fuck do we stay?

I thought pan might be interested in Pacha Jitsu.

Ah yes.....the myth of non-violent martial arts. ."Snatch this pebble from my hand, Grasshopper"

Saw an interview with David Carradine once....said he never took any martial arts training for the role and relied on his one college modern dance class to play the role of a Chinese/Caucasian monk invented by and for Bruce Lee.   Maybe that is why their fight choreography was always so lame.

Saw one woman and lots of men - there be a fair amount of testosterone in that room in spite of their name-dropping Starhawk the witch....  Even when your art is about redirecting your opponents' violence there still is aggression somewhere to make it happen. You can't start stacking up bodies (like in their second video) if you don't do some damage.

They got some cool tumbling going on.  Don't really see the Capoeira elements - more Aikido and stunt training than anything.
