Life in the Empire

Seems the peeps might have had enough. The evidence is in the number of increasing violent attacks against the system that the prez likes to call violent outbursts--as if to say they might be random and perpetrated by nut cases.

But, what if they aren't.

Seems recent events might actually be understandable given the desperation and limited alternatives some of these 'violent' individuals were faced with...

Like the guy from Florida who shot his previous employer....

"ORLANDO, Fla. - Jason Rodriguez's marriage long ago went sour, his home taken in foreclosure, his job lost to incompetence, his finances sunk in bankruptcy. It was a "stress overload" for the man accused of a deadly shooting rampage at his former office, his lawyer said Saturday.
The 40-year-old man whose life seemed to just keep getting worse was charged Saturday with first-degree murder, accused of killing one and wounding five Friday at his former office. He said nothing in his brief court appearance Saturday, but his attorney portrayed him as a mentally ill man who fell victim to countless problems."

Then, there is the couple who have been charged with 'torturing' a couple of loan modification scammers...

"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - As Los Angeles housing advocates launched a campaign warning of mortgage rescue scams, a couple hit by foreclosure are charged with torturing two loan-modification agents they suspected of fraud, authorities said on Monday."

And we all know what happened when the army asked a muslim to go to his 'homeland' and kill his own people. Too bad they couldn't hear his objections.

Anyway...

Here's a good article on the reason we'll be seeing a lot more those violent outbursts in the future.

As Foreclosure Nightmares Increase, Will More Homeowners Pay Off Th...

"The economic crisis revealed late-capitalism's central offense: Human beings are being transparently treated if they were mere transactions. And they're going postal over it."

Or maybe they're beginning to see the entire government as the criminal enterprise it has become, and realize that that's why there's no justice for them. Maybe they now realize that the only way they'll ever experience justice is to take it by force. As Bush once said..."freedom isn't pretty." Maybe the 'war for freedom', has finally come home.

Angry Residents Wave Pitchforks, Torches In Protest Of Mayor's Crackdown On Homelessness

Of course the "mob" was a rather small group of Portlanders....

Moar workhouses and debtors' prisons!

Where's Brian Williams telling us he was homeless once?

Big Thing

Not like Lewis was talking about.  The mother ship or whatever it was with lights and whatever descended to 10,000 ft. above the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  It was about the size of the moon.  Made no noise and caused no damage because of vacuum energy or free zero point electro gravitronics and time and all that.  You couldn't miss it.  When you looked it it spoke in your head.  It told your whole life story in seconds or whatever time was.  Sunset four hours early.

Time passes... dot dot dot... and there are still some who do not get it.  Everybody else will be on a different grid.  If you only hear one story, check out the one pilot's story about reverse-engineering an ET craft.

It has been 50 years since Malcolm X was assassinated.

Meh getting for rosd trip.

So I tried posting this graphic:

,,,representing the local scene and starting point.  Still not up to snuff on my Samphone... now there's the Samcam.  Blow my mind.Remember my first intro to the Sam Manitou has been the Phablet and the birth of waldo mobile.   My main axe now is the Book 9.  Main Droit.  Samphone is my Main Gauche.

So propose to use both to show you what I see.

Just replaced the household landline with a dumb phone. Got an iPad for portability and a Mac Mini for my desktop, so didn't need another "smart" device to just make phone calls. My wife and son have iPhones. Both of them have ADHD so their iPhones act like Vallium in helping to keep their anxiety in check. Kind of a frightening phenomena, really -- the way smartphone-addicted folks use their phones to filter the world.

Added an Apple TV and flat screen to my study yesterday. Hooked them up to my stereo and I now have a theater system for about $300. No cable broadcasts, just iTunes, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The latest technology is fun but the whole content matrix is a mess. Glad to see the FCC has approved net neutrality. That being so, I wonder how long before the crooks at Comcast/Xfinity are forced to unblock their content from playing on my Apple TV?

I got to be "observed" yesterday.  Wow.  So I switched from "disclosure" to "triadic awareness" because in academia, anything that has anything to do with UFOs is coo-coo.  It doesn't matter though... anything anybody doesn't know goes through few filters:  does this have anything to do with me?  will this help me make money immediately?  is this going to be on the test?  Nobody in the room knew what a "Cassandra" was... had to explain the metaphor.

Nobody (including me) has any fucking idea what a "rhetorical analysis" is... but all administrators are checking everybody's bung to make sure everybody is doing one.  Compliance or something to do with "funding" of course.  The wee spiders are researching topics that would cause Cassandra hair-pulling by anyone who can see the obvious trends.  The nature of the memetic pandemic makes us accept things we would ordinarily not... and reject what has long been held acceptable.

Currently in Flagstaff interviewing.  The Department is Comparative Cultures the job is Asst Prof of Practice (non-tenure) in Arts and Cultural Management

No Dance here.  That is both a positive and a negative - I'm tired of pointing feet, spinning on one leg and leaping in the splits being pointed to as being important - but I am a movement artist so there is some fear and regret at moving onto something else.  Possibility of mentoring the studes to do some important work that actually impacts the community while they think that they are doing the minor so they get the skills to get a fuckin' job.

'Memetic pandemic'. That's good. Oh wait, I meant to say, awesome.

Pandemic sounds bad.  Memetic Epidemic is more accurate.  Epi- above... demic.. people.  Woosh over their heads like a frisbee... or into their heads as the case may be.

but memetic pandemic has a better rhythm than memetic epidemic.
