Life in the Empire

We don't need another / a new discussion to prove it.

It is as it is.

Let this "fred" (discussion thread) live under the theme .......

long live this family

brothers, sisters, brethern, dogs, cats and birds, ants and flees, water and air and gas and Clare and Jim and him and the window Simm (??) and you and me and he and she and we and them and us and puss (???) and fish and the dish (it's on) and paper and pen.

I guess smoking cigars (even in virtual space as an avatar) isn't good for your health.

Keep hydrated. That is the primary problem with the flu - that is what kills.
Chicken soup cures everything. The grandchildren were probably where it originated, if my grandson is sporting something viral chances are pretty good the old fella and I will both come down with it soonest.

Mouse, my dear, write till yer hearts content we'll read it. We don't always comment, cause sometimes one has to let something stew till it sinks in.
Makes me wonder if being even slightly dehydrated can make us more vulnerable to catching something and to having it propagate rapidly. Maybe when they talk about "an ounce of prevention" they're talking fluid ounces.
Went to the doc today. He tested me for the flu, and it came up negative.

Sez I have a bad case of viral bronchitis.

Gave me a couple of doses of Tamiflu. Said, if I had the flu the Tamiflu would knock it out by tomorrow. Guess what? it's working.

MMMMMMM,mmmmmmmmm, chicken soup. Thanks LOM.

Tonite, I'll be ridding the A-train to codeineville. I luv that stuff. So, squze me if I become a little more obnoxious than normal.

Curt, you're too funny.
Come one now, let's pull together.

Those ailing, get well soon. Or, take three whacks and sing me to you in the morning. The kid is back!
They implanted the iPod?
Stricken, neat and tidy. Cool. Don't suppose you're listening to Vivaldi.
So....are we going to have to start a Hospital thread for us old farts who keep falling apart?
Oh Curt - that looks painful! Heal well and have it behind you soon.

Hospital thread may be in order. I was almost admitted with major clinical depression that descended the last couple of weeks ... maybe triggered by the death of my oldest boy dog, Blue. I purposefully grew my family with some youngsters as I knew he was on his way out and it helped but still knocked me sideways not to have his cheerful soul around anymore. It was unexpectedly fast too ... I took him to the vet for what I thought was constipation and ending up having to put him to sleep because he had a blocked bladder and wouldn't have survived surgery on account of a heart condition .... so I unexpectedly went home without him. Still not sure what to do with his collar except leave it on the table.

I think general economic anxiety is also closing in on me. I had a choice between 2 towns when I got moved here. I chose this one. My couterpart got sent further North and has just been told he's been retrenched because they're closing down that region. Mighty close to home for me ... would have to part with my dogs if things go that way for me ...
So sorry for your loss, Cal.

Yes, traumas trigger reactions and so can anxiety. Rational reactions aren't things we catch from somebody's sneeze.

Starting new hospital fred. Wanted to call it The-Rap-Eutics: Covery and Recovery, but I think I'll just plagiarize Michael Moore and call it Sickos. See ya there!
,,,Oh Cal , thinking of you.
Thanks Mark & Mouse ... needed thinking of!

Have discovered the source of the mood swing ... reaction to the breast cancer meds has lead to uterine troubles and haywire hormones. Coping much better with the mood swing since finding it's origin. Have to go 'to the city' to get myself scanned, biopsied etc in a month's time. I suppose this actually belongs on Mark's sicko thread. Got to love medicines ... cure one problem and cause another ... just like the species that spawned the science.

I'm on leave for 10 days starting Monday ... looking forward to resting and doing some serious spring cleaning .... yes it's spring over here ... I'm a spring baby - I turn 52 on Thursday.
