Life in the Empire

We don't need another / a new discussion to prove it.

It is as it is.

Let this "fred" (discussion thread) live under the theme .......

long live this family

brothers, sisters, brethern, dogs, cats and birds, ants and flees, water and air and gas and Clare and Jim and him and the window Simm (??) and you and me and he and she and we and them and us and puss (???) and fish and the dish (it's on) and paper and pen.

Two more examples that the US has become a mafia state. Totally mind-blowing.

Hope to live long enough to see one of these fuckers actually strung up.

Beet Street was the name of the "build it and they will come" and the cash registers will ring from arts tourists coming to partake in Ft. Collins project that I was THE finalist but the powers that be decided to never meet me for an interview.  I had immense schadenfreude when I read an article about their first major event, an Earth Wind and Fire concert, devolving into a riot.  I also get pleasure in not seeing any other press about this imagined capitalist utopia.

My own personal schadenfreude has morphed into unremitting anxiety. Ain't no vindication pointing out more icebergs when the hull has already been compromised. It's time to count down our final hours. Might as well go 'round and give people hugs and say, T'was nice to know yee.

Then again, shooting the captain might provide some satisfaction.

Back in Kansas after a month with Jo in Tallahassee. Got a form rejection email from my director the day I started the drive that I wasn't being considered for the Asst Prof position.  Nothing like leaving home to go to a job where it has been made clear that you aren't valued.

Greetings from SLC!

Miriam Valere and me on her front step.  Dam can't paste pictures here yet.   Amtak was way better than i expected.  Would recommend it to anybody who has the time!

Love Amtrak. Wish it were cheaper and had more routes.

Are you becoming a More man? Who's Miriam?

Are you back looking at quads?

Yep.  And more than just looking.  It's almost finished... gonna head out in about 1 hr. and will have some pics tonight.  Davinci drive has been mounted... and they say it should be "ride-able" today.  You betcha I'm excited!

Amtrak still has a loooong way to go before they catch up with DeutscheBahn... but i was "pleasantly surprised."  The track was much smoother than i expected.  Freight still has precedence  y'know... so there can be delays.  The grub ain't too bad (I'm told)... and the beer aint too expensive.

No smoking on the train of course... and i took them seriously.  Guess there are always people who don't-- and find their asses and baggage left at the next stop.  I found meself keeping company with a couple from Italy (Florence) and a coupla old Amish blokes... so i was speaking (very bad) German most of the time.

Mir is an old girlfriend (we met 35 years ago) and it was love at first sight.  That's the long-story-short.  More about that soon... but guessing i won't be going back to Duckburg anytime soon.  More man-- hell no... at least not in the churchy sense.  And mebbe will give ya some shots of me and her Corgy dogs if ya promise not to laugh.

Been smiling so much this week my goddam face hurts!

Sounds like life is getting better for you. Das ist goot.

SLC is probably one of the best places to be as things fall apart. The Seattle area has become a shooting gallery.

A friend of the family -- who's a seattle metro bus driver -- was stabbed recently when he broke up a fight. Can't quite convince the misses that it's time to get out of dodge.

Nice to see you, good photo!
