by the way, BO... that IS pretty good. At least as good as E^3=P.
a number of songs dominated my life back in the 70s. I'd like to dig them all out again for the 30th class reunion. I should make a CD and slap in on them.

One such song ........ERIC CARMEN - ALL BY MYSELF

(great audio quality with zero original visuals)

I think this one moved me because I was a tragic romantasist, in love with a girl which was not in love with me. I was alone.....all by myself....far far far .....

from the madding crowd.
Make sure you see Grosse Pointe Blank again before the reunion.

Mariah Carey's version of 'Without You' for us hopeless romantics. The gospel singers give me goose bumps.

Couldn't possibly, can hardly write these days. Today is a bad anniversary. Trouble with music is memory makes it ... well. You see. Even the last few week's music that worked just brings back the last few months and that's no good.

This song, Over my shoulder by Mika, is rather haunting and seems to catch that feeling when the distance inside yourself is so great that you cannot possibly .. frozen...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IOkNhqo0VGQ

This is the cd that I most rely upon, and Ecstacy of Gold is a necessity when it comes to putting my boots on and getting on my bike... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=CwQ4D1zDEWU&NR=1

Haven't forgotten about our video, I'm trying to find the wherewithal to learn how to work the camera and wait for all your percolations to rise to the surface.

Feeling a bit guilty, not having confessed yet to being completely mad. You don't mind do you?
Lots of melancholy folks here tonight.

If you like soundtracks, check out Imagine Avenue radio. Some of the best music today IMHO, is produced for movies.

It plays through my iTunes which I can play through my stereo via my wifi network. I dig filling up the house with music when the kid and wife are gone. I like it loud. They don't.
Well dammit BO... you outed me big time. I LOVE Mariah Carrey... she's a Diva. And now that I is out... here's my screed-wheedler favorite: There Can Be Miracles.. performed by TWO divas. Whoever that poor scribbler was/is... that wrote the lyrics I love so much... I can only IMAGINE the goosebumps that poor scribbler got when they saw/ heard the Divas actually using their words. "Though hope is frail... it's hard to kill..." damn. damn damn damn. "...somehow you will..." damn. "You will when you... believe." (pan... i bet i'll feel the same way if i ever hear "Tacoma" performed). damn.

My kids LOVED "Prince of Egypt." They were just little folk then... but they saw Dad blubbering during the big medley. On the way out of the theater, they asked what it was all about. "Passover," I said. "What's Passover," they asked. Then it hit me... how would they know? Half the kids I grew up with were Jewish. I had my own passover haggadah. It wasn't until I got to High School that I realized Jews were a tiny minority... until then, I thought half the WORLD was Jewish... because half the people i knew were Jewish. And now... here my kids didn't know about Passover... "why is this night like no other," and all that. Damn.

I recognized "Ashira l'Adonai" (Exodus 15) in the medley... because I heard my friends singing it at Jewish "church" when I was in the 4th grade: "I sing unto G_d, for He has won..." oh damn damn damn. Now my kids are "secular" folk... (except Zeke claims to be a Buddhist... which is "secular" in our honkey world)... he been clipped as he is a son of Abraham... son of Jebbie the Goy. But far as I kin tell... neither of my babies is into that "miracles" shit. Damn. Because they gonna NEED it... or maybe not.

I railed at G_d like Gary Cooper at High Noon. atop a pile of stinking human ashes... and She hurled a thunderbolt through my heart and struck me half blind. Or maybe it was just too many years of cigarettes and beer. Howthefuck should I know?

Whathefuck difference does it make anyway.
I railed at God too, when I was a child to begin with. It was night. There was another jet engine being revved up somewhere close by, for hours and hours. I was thinking of the unchristened and the Russians. My father was ground crew on aircraft that carried 'the bomb'. I couldn't get those Russian children out of my mind, like the unbaptised. So I started to shout and told that bastard God what I really thought about the situation. Nobody noticed but me, and God.
The singing of this song by Callas is perfection:

Despair.
And more perfect despair:

That prince of Egypt thingy reminded me of the account I was listening to this morning, of a Palestinian chap trying to buy a new mattress in Egypt

I do hope you get to listen to some of this. It's a favourite programme of mine.

How did Bo manage to put that photo on the page?
Here's the saddest music ever written, and just about as beautiful in its simplicity as BO's formula for the destruction of the planet. If this doesn't make you cry, nothing will.

You might recognize it from the movie 'Platoon'.
Very lovely.

We could use Bo's magic formula of course, perhaps combining it somehow with Waldo's shortened instructions for corporate employees, they might go together rather well in our video.
Let's put them together and think about it.
Wish I could think of something short of a feature length film.

I think Romeo and Juliet needs to be updated again. How about using two Los Angeles gangs--MS-13 and the 18th Street Gang juxtaposed against the classic love story and the bullshit associated with American opportunity.

If I had one wish, it would be to be able to direct a movie. Even if I had to hire the Black-eyed Peas to compose the soundtrack.

I figure Jessica Alba would make a good Juliet. Kind of stuck on who should play Romeo.
Mouse purred : "How did Bo manage to put that photo on the page?"

I think what Bo did was to click the right button at the right time. He must've somehow uploaded or linked an existing picture. The icons are very small but the one on the right....if you hover over it with your computer-pointer-device-sometimes-referred-to-as-a-mouse-but-not-a-real-mouse-okay, the hypertext "Add an image" should show up.
