"It is the perfect storm: everything is going wrong at once. To begin with, the world's population has continued to grow while its food production has not. For the 50 years between 1945 and 1995, as the world's population more than doubled, grain production kept pace - but then it stalled. In six of the past seven years, the human race has consumed more grain than it grew. World grain reserves last year were only 57 days, down from 180 days a decade ago."
Doesn't this kinda coincide with the take over of the family farm by big corporations?

Thought about posting that article but, since I have recently emailed the woman sits on toilet seat for 2 years story (talk about the need to shit or get off the pot!) I felt a little guilty for my indulgence in internet gawking.
I just happened to run across it when LOM posted her 'hopeful' reply. It was simply good timing.
I thought at first it must have been an Onion news item--i couldn't stop laughing. We've reached a point in time where reality has become as absurd as anything the imagination can contrive. It's all part of 'The Collapse.'
Been watching the banking mafia defend its Bear Stearns bailout to congress this morning. That's an even bigger joke.
I was just watching the FCC get their butts in a sling over their lack of oversight. "bout time I think, now if they would just continue on to all the other badly run government alphabet, we might get some where.
